Need for Councils, Departments and Development organizations’ Strategic Collaboration with Sector Associations and Professional Associations.

Need for Councils, Departments and Development organizations’ Strategic Collaboration with Sector Associations and Professional Associations.
Strategic collaboration is when councils, authorities and development partners enter into arrangements with trade associations, business associations, sector associations, professional associations and groups for the benefit of the community.
Currently there is an eminent need for Practical Strategic Collaboration in Uganda which will reduces duplication of services, provide cost savings, access innovation, reduce donor distortion, reduce recycling of programs, reduce exploitation, reduce fragmentation,  reduce crisis management tendencies and approaches, enhance transparency, enhances sustainability and long-term monitoring of programs, enhance organizations’ capacity & skills development and open way for local communities and organizations to share ideas and connect with others so as to strengthen systems.
Given the current economic climate of limited resources, increasing demands on services and complex community expectations, it is important that authorities, councils and organizations look at strategic collaborations and partnerships as ways to respond to these challenges. It is acknowledged that almost any problem today is too complex to be addressed individually or by organizations working alone in their silos.
